It's my party, I can do what I want to....

I have the greatest friends and family! When you throw yourself a party, there is always that worry that no one will show up (After worrying that no one will have fun). BUT even with last minute invites and a few people who I didn't get invites to (I am sorry, next time my party planner will get the guest list earlier) so many came and made the party perfect. I could not have had more fun. The whole party thing started when I told my BFF/SIS that I was just going to do it. So lovingly she said "why don't we both plan it and then you can just act surprised" We had so much fun laughing about what we could do or have at the party. Planning with her was just as fun as the party. So here are a few pics and highlights.
Our very awesome live music, Kenny Favero. He played the cutest song when we were dancing, one that he wrote for his wife when they got married. He did such a good job. If you want to hear his music go to Kenny Favero on myspace.com. I had heard him a few times before and so I asked "...Uhh do you do birthdays?" and he was like sure, I do all kinds of gigs. I was so thrilled! The ever so fabulous frozen drink bar. I had asked adorable Jessica and studly TC if they could be my bar tenders (knowing that their mom would be o.k. with them out a little late on a school night making frozen drinks for all the partiers). Well, the day before the party they came over with a hostess posse. We tried a few different recipes and decided on the ones we would serve. I could not have had better help. You guys are awesome! They took care of it all! Jay got brownie points too, he had left my birthday present out in the garage on tues and when I went to get in my car to go buy a new blender, behold....there was a very beautiful kitchen aid blender. I was giddy and so impressed that he was so on the ball. He may not throw the party, but he does a good job of remembering my day. TC the 'official bar tender' I told him he had to change his shirt to a Utah one or go shirtless, but those darn stubborn byu fans,... seriously! The best hostess staff you could ever have! You know your help does such a good job when you don't even think about what is going on at the bar. So nice! And aren't they cute?

Princess Katie! I am so glad she came, It means so much to have such good friends and family who you can let loose and have fun with! (I didn't get out my camera all night, so I only have a few pics that were emailed or that I stole off others websites.) A few of the things I did not get pics of.....The surprise singing telegram sent by my bro and sis in law. 2 byu clad rappers that beat out a good birthday song. When the kids answered the door, all 5-8 of them were like "oh no you don't.... you can't be dressed like that here..." it was funny, I don't think they were quite prepared for that.... I also missed the photo op of the very interesting and entertaining handwriting analysis. I now know who is materialistic, likes gossip, angry, romantic, friendly and open. And Cole thinks highly of me since he wrote my name with a large s. I wished I would have been around to hear what the rest of everyone thought about me......(uuhh maybe not...?) I can't say enough about everyone who made this party. Every time I talked to someone about it they would say they would help or say I could do this or that and it kind of took off on its own. We will have to see how I can out do this one....Maybe I should just keep this one in my record books of best ever!

Before the party, I had a soccer game and I twisted my ankle. I was so mad, but glad it wasn't the previous week before the 1/2 marathon. I had to keep telling myself it was because of all the large holes and how crappy the field was and not because I was old. Anyway, when the party was over, I started to feel the pain. It has swelled up pretty good. Funny I didn't really feel it when I was dancing with Jay....? So since I like to post pics of my distorted face or body parts here's another lovely distorted pic for your enjoyment. It has since changed colors to purple and yellow and the swelling is from toe to calf. The head trainer and Utah said it would help if I would stay off it and not wear kitten heeled flip flop sandals all weekend in Michigan. I guess its just vanity, but tennis shoes just did not go with my outfit....

Hopefully by wed. I will be able to play again.

It's my BIRTHDAY! I feel so grown up at 30. And after 10 years of football trumping my day well actually, my month! This year is the year of the party! I am so excited, so if you don't have my address and are planning on coming, email me and we will see ya'll there!

Aug 23!

So ONE year ago, Jay and I gathered up our stuff and headed to the Hospital. We got all checked in and hooked up to monitors and they asked "Have you had anything to eat?", of course being honest, I said "...well I popped a hand full of cinnamon toast crunch when I gave my kids breakfast." The nurse stopped in her tracks and said, let me go talk to the Dr. SO, because this was an elective induction 2 weeks early they were not going to do it if I had food in my stomach. Just in case I had to go into surgery blah, blah blah! I promised them I would not have to go into surgery and that if they just broke my water I would have this baby within the hour. Jay was livid. He had special permission to have the day off for the birth. After a lot of begging and pleading they said come back after 5-6 hours of not eating. So we went to the mall and walked and walked then walked some more to get contractions going. By the time we got back to the hospital I was having contractions 3-5 mins apart. They got me hooked up and broke my water at 5:30 and Jacob was here at 6:03 pm. He has been such a joy. I love this boy and his happy zest for life. He has always been so happy. He would belly laugh in his sleep at 2 weeks old. The first time, I was like he can't be, but then he would do it over and over and he still belly laughs all the time. He gets busier and busier by the day and loves to jabber and find things to open, spin or throw.

I was so excited to have my sisters and their families here for his birthday. We had a little party with them friday and another small family party on his actual b-day.

At his 1 year check up, he is back on the charts for his height and weight at the 97th percentile but his head is still off the chart :) We thought Alayna was king sized...

So Aug 23 was the Top of Utah 1/2 marathon. Our cousin was going to do this 1/2 so the three of us sisters decided to join her and all signed up. I love having an excuse to get together. It was so much fun to be together and to have something for us to check in on each other for the month leading up to it. Good Job girls getting er done. I can't wait for the St George 1/2. I think I should have a sign up on my side bar for everyone who commits to this years St George half. It is going to be one HUGE girls party! Ashtyn was our photographer and made sure she got us right after crossing the finish line. Thanks sweet girl! The weather was great, perfect conditions for running.

Run baby, Run

We have been running ALL summer long, so this post is a little out dated. Every year the coaches have to pick a physical goal to meet during the summer, last year Jays, was to run a 1/2 marathon in under 1hr and 38 minutes (I think?)... This year it was a 1/2 marathon again in some ridiculous time again, BUT this year not being pregnant, I was able to train with him. Training started out pretty rocky but I finally was able to enjoy running with him, Something I have always wanted to do with him. We signed up for the Teton Dam 1/2 marathon and ran it together. He was so nice to keep me hydrated and keep me going. I am afraid we didn't meet the goal of getting me under 1:50, but I improved my time from the last race by six minutes. I am so glad we did it and hope to keep this race on our annual list of runs. I was so excited to see a roommate from ricks, Janeese. She has got the cutest (and the most active) kids. I love the stories from her blog. One day maybe we will be neighbors in Rexburg.
Emily and I ran the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay the week after. It was the most fun and the hardest run I have EVER participated in. 7000 crazy people who run 3 times in 2 days to get from Logan to Park City. I was so impressed with the ability to put something like this together. All the effort that goes into making sure this race goes smooth...insane. My favorite parts were 1. The midnight run under a full moon listening to my ipod, trying not to think about what to do if some animal jumped out at me. 2. the feeling of finishing the 3rd and final run. 3. running with my sister and best friend. 4. Walking into the high school where you had to step over 25 people because they could go any farther. Then falling dead asleep for 2 hours in a room full of snoring people. I have never slept so hard. 5. Being able to say I did it and wanting to do it again.....
This weekend Josie, Emily and I are going to run the top of utah 1/2. I love that we have something we can all do together. I hope we can keep running for a long, long time!
