This weekend was a bit of a binge of the projects and therefore why I decided I might need to look into therapy. Friday It started with making spaghetti sauce, then I thought to start on Halloween costumes and stayed up til 2am sewing. It was a good thing I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies earlier that evening to give me a 1am boost. Sat morning I couldn't sleep because I was so excited to have the day for projects and woke up early. I started with a side table for the sitting area in my room AND since Jays night stand wasn't working I refinished one from the DI, but WAIT, my night stand was not the correct height, so while at Lowes (The girls love the build and grow projects) I grabbed a couple extra legs to add to my night stand. Now the thing with refinishing is the wait in between coats and letting paint/stain/finish dry. What to do with that down time. It was way too freezing to work in the yard so I decided I NEED a LAUNDRY CHUTE. When we first walked through this house before we made the purchase, I instantly knew a laundry chute would be one of the first projects I wanted to accomplish. It has been pushed behind finishing the garage walls/floors, finishing the basement, installing a door to the master bath, cabinets flanking the fire place, adding a wall or architecture to master etc, etc, etc. So now finally I got out the sheet rock knife and saw and cut me a hole for the long awaited laundry chute.
Hopefully this next week I can finish it before someone falls down the hole. Some people drown themselves in alcohol, some people binge on enormous amounts of food, some like a pretty woman. Me I can't stop the projects.....and this weekend was a HUGE binge. Should I get help? Is there a P.A.?

I need to tag along with you to Lowe's so you can show me around, I always walk through that place and see cool things but have no clue where to start! Project Therapy, that's a good addiction I say! Loved the kids answers below, so cute and sweet!
Sara!! You are amazing! I got tired just reading your blog and the fact that you just cut a hole in your floor/ceiling....wow!! Congrats to you and of all the addictions out there, yours has got to be the most productive!
you are hilarious and i love it! my parents had a laundry chute growing up and it was the greatest thing. if i had my laundry room on a different floor then i would convince you to come by and cut me one! way to go!!!
ps another 2 wins for another? 2 great? teams... :)
I wish I had a project addiction. I hate projects. Most likely because I dont know how to do big projects but I also dont have the analness to do it right. I love your kiddos answers. Quite insightful kids.
WOW Projects! I am so impressed. I do not have the project addiction but really want you to come to my house for the week! Think of all we (you) could get done! I will watch the kids and you can go crazy!
So if you come to my house and make a list of projects for me, does that mean you'll complete those projects for my house too?
Actually I too make lists of projects that need to get done. My problem is just starting them. haha. I'm so impressed you are doing a laundry chute though! What gusto!
You make the rest of us look like huge slackers! What are the projects you have in mind for my house?
Seriously, you are so freakin funny and I wish I were there to do a few projects with you but the word FEW is what I like to do. I can't believe you are cutting your own laundry shoot. I was looking for you at the Utah, Airforce game but I guess you wern't there. I ever tried calling you but you changed your cell phone number so I need your new one.
Love ya, Hillary
I didn't know if your project question was rhetorical or if you really wanted an answer. Basically, I feel that life is made up of priorities. If your projects don't take precedence over more important things, they can be a great blessing. ( Take this from someone married to a "project person".)
I think projects are in your genes. Unless the dog or a kid gets put down the laundy chute (both of which happened at our house), laundry chutes can be a good thing. I could always tell when life was getting too busy for me because the dirty laundry would come up three stories in the laundry chute. Mom
I need you to live by me, I love projects but do them a lot better with a buddy.
